Colourtex was founded in late sixties by the present Chairman and Managing Director Mr. Jayantibhai Jariwala. His first venture in to dyestuff manufacturing came in 1976 with a modest plant in the industrial suburb of Surat, Gujarat.
Initially catering to the local dyestuff demand in and around Surat, Colourtex grew rapidly in the next three decades to become the largest producer of dyes in the subcontinent.
Today with such comprehensive set up, Colourtex manufacturing capabilities are unmatched globally - product mix of over 750 dyes from an installed capacity of 57000mta.
Colourtex derives this strength through its infrastructure – 600000 M3 soft water reservoir, 7.5 MW cogeneration gas based turbine, 18 hectares of dedicated land fill site, backed by strong backward integration (46,000 mta of dye intermediates and dye additives) – making it totally self reliant for sustained quality manufacturing activities.
With its 1500 work force and a market oriented, customer driven management, Colourtex has gained trust for quality & reliability of over 2000 clientele around the world.
Uncompromising outlook of its Chairman towards environmental and ecological priorities in manufacture and use of the products lends Colourtex a strong resilience and a futuristic vision.
Besides having ISO 9001 – 2008 certification, all production sites are ISO
14001 – 2004 and OHSAS 18001 – 2007 certified.
Colourtex has been ETAD member since 2006.
Colourtex has grown steadily ever since its inception.
Colourtex sold USD 180million dyes in 2009 and hopes to cross Rs.225 million sales in 2010.
